Hi foodies, welcome back to my kitchen
With me Yuda Bustara
Today I want to share my favourite recipe
From IKEA book
I'm going to make swedish meatballs
Actually, you have to add somebreads to the ingredients
So the meat will more tender
First, we have to make the soaked breads.
I got breads
You can use anykind of bread
I want to use sour dough
This is a leftover sour dough
Take the flesh only
Because the crust is tough enough
If you use common bread,use only the flesh too
You can use any kind of breads, as long as the flesh only
Then pour the cream in
Set aside, so the creamabsorbed to the breads
Now, the next step is sauting the onion
Finely chop the onion,
Turn on the flame
Because this is Sweden dishor Europe
They mostly use butterinstead of oil
To give savoury tastesto the dish
The butter is melting,now toss the onion
Saute until translucent
They're alreadyrelease the aroma
Now time to combine all the ingredients
Transfer the onion into a bowl
Also the breads
They're already absorbed the cream,
Next, pour all the herbs & spices
1 tbsp brown sugar,
1/8 tsp grated ginger
1 egg
1/4 tsp nutmeg powder
Last, the important one is
1/4 tsp allspice powder
You can get the allspice powder ina grocery store
Last, salt and pepper
Then mix the mixture
When it's already well combined like this,
Put in the beef
To make the meatballs tender,
Choose the fatty beef
The less fat, the tougher the beef
Mix them until well combined
It's already looked likea meatballs

Now shape the mixture
To ease the shaping step
Use ice cream scoop
A small one
Take it, then toss ona baking tray
Round up the mixture to make the perfect meatballs
Now time to fry them
I got a special method to fry the meatballs
This is the secret whyEuropean meatballs are delicious
Use much butter instead of oil
Don't be shock whythe butter is so much
Because all European dishuse butter
I use plain butter
Cook in a medium heat
The smell is like a fried milk
Then toss the meatballs one by one
Don't put all at once
We're going to brownishthe meatballs only
And the inside hasn't cookedperfectly
Then we cook them in an oven
When it's already brown,
Transfer them into a baking tray
Now we want to cook the inside by the oven
To make it more delicous,
I got beef stock here,
You can use the bone or the beef
Pour 1/4 cup of beef stock
Cover the baking tray withparchment paper or aluminium foil
The oven is ready,
Cook them for 15 minutesin 180 degree celcius
Meanwhile, make the sauce
We use the pan thatwas used for saute the meatballs
Pour 2 sdm all purpose flour
Cook until fragrant
And become brownish
When it's already brownish and fragrant
Pour the stock in
The sauce is already mixed perfectly,there is no lump anymore
The last ingredient iscream
But don't pour in now,
Turn off the flame,
Before serving, pour the cream in
Or based on your preferences
100 grams of sour cream/cream
Swedish meatballs is done,
